Feeling distant from Allah after becoming a mom-how can I reconnect?
Assalamu alaikum. I've been married for three years and had my baby in November, alhamdulillah. I'm so grateful and in love with my little one and this new phase, but since the rough first trimester, I've been struggling a lot to feel close to Allah. I was stuck in bed for months, dealing with nonstop morning sickness, weight loss, couldn't eat or even stand being in the kitchen without getting sick. Pregnancy hit me hard. I got a break in the second trimester, but the third just drained me physically. I'd pray sitting or sometimes do tayammum lying down because I was so exhausted and down. Now I'm eight months postpartum and feel terrible because I should be more connected after this beautiful blessing He gave me. No matter what I try, I don't feel that bond. I've been skipping salah and only occasionally feel guilty. I hardly open the Quran. I have zero motivation to listen to lectures. I don't know what to do. I'm just tired all the time, and prayer feels like a chore-like after a long day managing the house and my baby, it's just another task on my endless list. I hate feeling this way and would really appreciate any advice on how to rebuild that closeness to Allah and stay consistent. Jazakum Allahu khairan.
