Does my wudu still count if I did it wrong without knowing?

Assalamu alaikum, everyone. I was checking some videos on wudu and thought I had it down, but then they said you should rinse the nose three times and wash the face three times. I've only been doing each of those once. Is that just a sunnah, or is it required? And if it is required, are my past wudus still valid since I didn't know? JazakAllah khair for any help.
