DMI East Java Prepares 400 Halal Facilitators, Targeting Mosque-Based MSMEs
The Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) of East Java is preparing 400 halal product process facilitators (P3H) to help MSME actors around mosques obtain halal certification. The hundreds of facilitators are the result of four training sessions attended by DMI administrators and mosque caretakers.
Vice Chair of PW DMI East Java for Halal Lifestyle, Dr. Siti Nur Husnul Yusmiati STP MKes, explained that halal certification is a basic need for Muslims, not just a market trend. DMI East Java has had a Halal Product Process Facilitation Institution (LP3H) since January 14, 2026, to provide official assistance, from ensuring raw materials, processing, to product naming aspects.
Secretary of PW DMI East Java, Drs. H. Suhadi, added that strengthening the halal ecosystem is part of DMI's efforts to make mosques centers of community empowerment. DMI East Java has three flagship programs: Imam Mosque Honorarium (UKIM), Mosque Award, and Halal Center.
By strengthening the halal facilitator network down to the mosque level, DMI East Java aims for mosques to become an entry point for MSMEs to level up, while expanding the halal product ecosystem in East Java.
