Upset with my mother and husband, seeking advice and duas
Salaam, I'm a first-time mum with a toddler, and Alhamdulillah pregnant again after a miscarriage last year. But my marriage is abusive – my husband was physically violent when I was 8 months pregnant, and he's emotionally abusive, slapped me twice, and is generally vile. It's on and off, and I feel like I control his mood. I know leaving is best for my kids, but it's hard. Please don't tell me to leave now; I need time. I've had bad morning sickness this time, and I came to my mum's to rest, especially after my husband got angry recently. At my mum's, she's very into an online Islamic class, and I asked her to skip classes while we're here, but she said she has to attend some. Tonight it was late, my toddler was awake watching cartoons, and my mum was on the phone with a classmate. I got annoyed because it was late and I couldn't settle my daughter. After she hung up, I asked her to watch my daughter while I ate, but she wanted to make biscuits for a classmate's son at the same time. I sighed and said I don't get peace anywhere, and I didn't want to come anymore. I didn't mean it badly; I'm just so upset with my husband and stressed. She got very angry and shouted at me, which made my daughter cry. She blamed me for making her angry and causing my daughter to cry. I managed to calm my daughter, but I'm worried about her – she's nearly 4 and non-verbal, and I'm getting NHS help. My mum also called the class 'balor' (useless), and I feel guilty, fearing Allah will punish us. I'm also worried because I saw brown discharge, which could mean a threatened miscarriage. I'm holding everything in, but I need support. I know my parents try their best – my mum cooks and my dad helps at night. I tried to apologize to my mum, but she's ignoring me. She has bipolar disorder, and I'm worried it's flaring up. I'm scared the shouting will harm my daughter and unborn baby, and that my stress might cause a miscarriage like last time. I feel guilty and scared about Allah's anger. I'm sorry for rambling; I'm struggling with faith. Please give me advice and duas. JazakAllah khair.
