A terrifying episode on the trail

SubhanAllah. I still think about an experience I had while recovering from six gunshot wounds. I was 21 then, Alhamdulillah, and by Allah's will I survived six shots, mostly in my leg. During recovery, I went for a walk on a beautiful trail nearby. It was peaceful and scenic, so I decided to study the Torah and the Talmud while walking. As I read, I came across a passage that deeply disturbed me. Almost instantly, I felt extremely sick to my stomach-sweating, my stomach turning, and I felt like vomiting. Then I collapsed. I couldn't get back up for some reason, and I thought, "What is happening to me?" Then my vision changed: the world looked unbelievably vivid, as if someone had turned all colors to maximum brightness and sharpness. I tried blinking and rubbing my eyes, but with every blink I saw something. First blink: lightning or thunder slamming into the ground followed by an explosion. Second blink: two hands holding stone tablets. Third blink: newspapers with a red filter. I didn't understand any of it, but the only thing that came naturally was reciting Ayat al-Kursi. SubhanAllah, the feeling disappeared-nausea gone, overwhelming sensation gone, no vomiting, and I regained myself. I still don't know if those images were from my body, something spiritual, or inexplicable, but I turned to Allah when overwhelmed and it passed. Alhamdulillah for everything. I survived six gunshots by Allah's will, and whatever that was, I'll never forget. SubhanAllah.
