Chronology of the Doctor Icha Case: Alleged Intimidation by Member of Regional House of Representatives Leading to Depression and Death
Doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni (Doctor Icha) was found dead at her residence in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on Friday, June 26, 2026. She was the on-call doctor at the ER of Leona Kefamenanu Hospital who was allegedly intimidated by a family member of a regional house of representatives member, causing her to fall into depression.
The alleged intimidation started on June 13, 2026, when Doctor Icha treated a snakebite referral patient, who was a relative of TTU Regional House of Representatives member Therensius Lazakar. She had followed standard operating procedures, not administering antivenom because there was no recommendation and the stock was unavailable.
Doctor Icha's uncle, Victor Manbait, revealed that two men claiming to be members of the regional house of representatives came and intimidated Doctor Icha, one of them pointing fingers because they couldn't accept the medical explanation. After the incident, Doctor Icha suffered from depression and health issues until she passed away.
