The Root of Society’s Moral Decline Comes Down to Two Mindsets

Assalamu alaikum. As explained in the Twenty-Fifth Word, when comparing today’s civilization with what the Qur’an teaches, the root of all immorality and social breakdown boils down to two selfish attitudes: The first one is: “Once my stomach is full, why should I care if others go hungry?” The second one is: “You do the hard work, and I’ll just enjoy the benefits.” What fuels these mindsets is riba (interest) and ignoring zakah. The only real way to fix these awful social problems is by making zakah a universal principle-truly fulfilling the duty of zakah and strictly avoiding riba.
