Batu City Tightens Oversight of Sacrificial Animals Ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026
Batu City's Agriculture and Food Security Agency (Distan KP) is tightening health surveillance of sacrificial animals to prevent Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026. Vaccinations have been carried out from February to April for about 10,000 goats, sheep, and cattle.
Surveillance includes health checks and the issuance of Animal Health Certificates (SKKH) for livestock leaving or entering the city area. Distan KP is also collaborating with various agencies, including the Mosque Council, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Indonesian Ulema Council, to strengthen oversight.
The team will conduct direct data collection and inspections at sales locations and farms starting 10 days before Eid al-Adha. These measures aim to ensure that sacrificial animals are in healthy and eligible condition according to regulations.
