A New Map of Islamic Economy Starts to Take Shape, Indonesia Could Be a Key Player
Islamic countries are starting to sketch out a new, more integrated economic cooperation map amid global shifts. The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development meeting in Ankara, Turkey, emphasized strengthening the private sector, trade, investment, innovation, and food security.
Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers Abdullah Saleh Kamel called for closer collaboration among Islamic nations and empowering the private sector. The agenda covers halal supply chains, entrepreneurship, and cross-border investment.
Indonesia, with the world's largest Muslim population, is seen as having a chance to become a trading hub and a global sharia economic center. The meeting also touched on strategic programs like the OIC Arbitration Centre and preparations for the 50th anniversary of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development in 2027.
