9 Indonesian GSF Volunteers Previously Detained by Israel Arrive Home
Nine Indonesian citizens who were briefly detained by Israeli military forces while taking part in the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 humanitarian mission to Gaza have arrived back in Indonesia on Sunday (24/5/2026). They landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, and were welcomed by Foreign Minister Sugiono along with other officials.
Foreign Minister Sugiono expressed relief about their safe return, while stressing that their release came about thanks to the grace of Allah SWT and the coordination and negotiation efforts undertaken. He thanked the President, the leadership and members of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Global Peace Convoy Indonesia, and the governments of Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt for the assistance provided.
The nine Indonesians were flown out from Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday (23/6/2026) evening. They are Thoudy Badai, Rahendro Herubowo, Bambang Noroyono, Andre Prasetyo Nugroho, Andi Angga, Herman Budiyanto Sudarsono, Ronggo Wirasano, Asad Aras Muhammad, and Hendro Prasetyo.
