Wondering About Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Life from an Islamic Perspective

Assalamu alaikum everyone. Lately I've been really into learning about dinosaurs and all those ancient animals from millions of years ago, and it got me thinking... what does Islam say about all this? Is there anything in the Quran or hadith that talks about creatures that lived long before humans? I'm genuinely curious because I've read about so many scientific things in the Quran that match modern discoveries, Mashallah. But it makes me wonder... if Allah created such incredible and powerful creatures, why did they exist for so long only to disappear? What was the wisdom behind that? I know some might say "the Quran doesn't cover every single historical detail," and that's true. But since it does talk about creation, the earth, and different forms of life, I just find it interesting to think about. If these creatures were here for 99% of the time humans have existed, what can we learn from their existence and extinction as Muslims?
