Why Don’t We Truly Follow This Beautiful Teaching of the Prophet (PBUH)?
Salam alaikum, folks. The Prophet (PBUH) taught us: *none of you truly believes until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.* This golden hadith shows up in Bukhari, Muslim, and Imam Nawawi’s collection – same spirit, just slightly different wording. He also reminded us that every Muslim is a brother to another; we shouldn’t wrong each other or abandon anyone to an oppressor. And when you help your brother’s needs, Allah helps you in return (Bukhari 2442, Muslim 2580). So here’s what bothers me: if we’re all brothers and sisters in Islam, and our iman depends on wanting the best for each other, why do so many Muslims – even ordinary folks, not just power-hungry leaders – oppose a free Kurdistan? I’m talking about a land where they can live under Sharia, in their own Islamic country, on their own soil. Shouldn’t we be the first to support that? It makes you wonder, if we don’t cheer for what’s good for them, how complete is our faith? Just some food for thought. May Allah guide us all to genuine love for one another.
