US-Iran Negotiations Fail to Reach Peace Agreement

Peace talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Saturday (4/11/2026), ended without a positive agreement. According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, both sides reached an understanding on several issues but had differing views on two or three key issues, leading to the failure of the talks. Baghaei stated that the negotiations focused on the Strait of Hormuz, the nuclear program, compensation, the lifting of sanctions, and the resolution of regional conflicts. He emphasized that the success of the negotiations depended on the seriousness of US intentions, the rejection of maximalism, and the recognition of Iran's rights.
