UNIFIL TNI Soldier Private Rico Killed in Lebanon
Private Rico Pramudia, a TNI personnel on a UN peacekeeping mission (UNIFIL), passed away from severe injuries on Friday (24/4/2026). The 31-year-old soldier was critically wounded by a projectile explosion at the UNIFIL base in Adchit Al Qusayr on March 29th and succumbed to his injuries after a month of treatment at a hospital in Beirut.
UNIFIL, in an official statement, expressed its deepest condolences and asserted that deliberate attacks against peacekeeping forces constitute a serious violation of international humanitarian law and could be categorized as war crimes. They urged all parties to uphold their international obligations for the safety of UN personnel.
According to a UN investigation, the March 29th incident that led to the deaths of Private Rico and Private Anumerta Farizal Rhomadhon (Posthumously Promoted Corporal) was caused by tank fire. Private Rico is the fourth TNI personnel killed in the recent conflict in Lebanon, following three separate incidents that occurred between March 29th and April 3rd, 2026.
