UMY Temporarily Suspends Pharmacy Lecturer Over Alleged Sexual Harassment
Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has taken a firm step by temporarily suspending a lecturer from the Pharmacy Study Program, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK), following the viral spread of alleged inappropriate messages to female students on social media.
UMY Rector Achmad Nurmandi expressed deep concern and ensured protection, psychological support, and confidentiality of the identities of the victim and reporter throughout the handling process.
The campus has formed an internal investigation team together with the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (Satgas PPKPT) to gather complete, accurate, and objective information, including exploring the possibility of other victims who have not come forward.
UMY emphasized that the entire process is carried out without intimidation and is committed to resolving this matter transparently and fairly.
