Surface-Level Judgments of Atheists and Skeptics
Assalamu alaikum! I wanted to share a thought that's been on my mind lately: So many atheists or skeptics say they've looked into the major faiths (I mean the Abrahamic ones) and ended up thinking none of them make any sense. Here's what bothers me: most of the time, they're just focusing on what people do on the surface-cultural habits and behaviors-without really diving into the theology, philosophy, or the actual truth behind the scriptures. It's not a genuine study, you know? It feels like they're just trying to confirm what they already believe. Saying you've researched a religion while only hunting for things to criticize is such a shallow way to deal with deep beliefs, and it honestly makes me sad because of how stubbornly they close themselves off 😢. In the end, there's a big gap between someone who studies to truly understand and someone who studies just to pick holes. One way opens your heart wide, while the other is basically a method to stay shut.
