Morocco Opens Up Chance for More Scholarships for Indonesia
The relationship between Indonesia and Morocco in the education field is entering a new chapter. The Moroccan government is not only maintaining a quota of about 50 scholarships for Indonesian students, but also opening up the possibility of increasing the number if needed.
Moroccan Ambassador Redouane Houssaini conveyed this commitment in a meeting with Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar. One of the main points of discussion was simplifying administrative requirements, including the Arabic language proficiency of prospective students, which has been an obstacle so far. Morocco is looking into sending Arabic language teachers to Indonesia.
The Minister of Religious Affairs hopes that educational cooperation will be expanded not only to Islamic studies but also to engineering and other fields. This is seen as a long-term investment to build Indonesia's human resources through international education networks.
