Sidoarjo Liponsos Faces Shortage of Clothing and Mattresses for Residents
Sidoarjo's Liponsos is still dealing with limited facilities, including a shortage of decent clothing, mattresses, and adequate space to separate people with mental disorders based on their health conditions. Currently, 102 residents are staying in a borrowed building without proper room separation for rehabilitation.
The Head of Social Rehabilitation at the Sidoarjo Social Service, Diana Ambarukmi, stated that this situation is far from ideal because it can affect the recovery process of the residents, especially those who are starting to show positive progress. They also lack basic supplies like underwear, sarongs, and sleeping mats.
For safety, the staff use wax paper as eating mats since hard containers are often misused. People who want to help can send donations of decent clothes, mattresses, or other necessities directly to Liponsos Sidokare or the Social Rehabilitation Division of the Sidoarjo Social Service.
