Seeking Peace Amidst Religious Disputes

Assalamu alaikum, respected brothers and sisters. I'm on a journey considering an Abrahamic faith, and Islam strongly appeals to me. The concept of Allah taking human form, or worshiping Prophet 'Isa (peace be upon him) as divine, feels fundamentally incorrect to my understanding. Lately, I've encountered arguments from others that misrepresent Islam and our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) using out-of-context teachings or unreliable narrations. This is deeply upsetting, not only because these claims are false, but also given the theological contradictions in their own practices, which include symbolic rituals I find difficult to comprehend. I've spoken with followers of other faiths to grasp their perspectives, striving to listen with an open heart. Yet, with each conversation, my conviction in the clarity of Islamic monotheism grows stronger, while my confusion about their theological positions deepens. I've even studied their doctrines to seek understanding, but the core issues still seem logically inconsistent to me. So, I turn to you for guidance: how can I find inner tranquility and gently distance myself from these contentious debates that disturb my peace? Your advice would be a great help, insha'Allah.

The peace you seek is in prayer and Quran. Just avoid those arguments, they rarely change minds.

I feel you, brother. Sometimes stepping back is the best move. Focus on your own connection with Allah; debates can drain your energy for no gain. Stay strong in your faith.

Your conviction is a blessing. For tranquility, maybe limit those discussions and spend more time in the masjid community. They'll support you better than online debates ever could. May Allah guide you.
