Saudi Ministry of Health Announces Success in Providing 2.5 Million Services During Hajj 2026
Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health announced the success of health operations during the Hajj season of 1447 H/2026, confirming that no disease outbreaks or public health threats were recorded among the pilgrims.
Medical teams provided over 2.5 million health services from the start of the Hajj season until the 12th of Dhul-Hijjah, covering 114,889 people at health centers, 58,462 cases in emergency units, and 29,846 patients in outpatient clinics. A total of 8,342 patients were admitted to hospitals, with 410 surgeries including 323 cardiac catheterizations and 33 open-heart surgeries.
Education and prevention campaigns were strengthened with over 292,585 preventive services. The integrated 937 service center received over one million calls, providing medical support and consultations 24/7 in seven languages.
This year's Hajj organization was marked by the use of advanced medical technology, including medication delivery via drones, medical robotics for complex procedures, and smartwatches to remotely monitor vital signs of high-risk pilgrims.
