Police Arrest Two People Linked to Viral Quran Memorization Challenge with Alcohol Prize

BANDA ACEH – Police have arrested two people in connection with a case involving a Quran memorization challenge with alcoholic beverages as a reward at The Sounds Project music festival in Ancol, North Jakarta. The two, identified by initials R (female) and E (male), are currently being held at the North Jakarta Metro Police. Acting North Jakarta Police Chief, Commissioner Oki Waskito, stated that the investigation is ongoing and a decision will be made within 24 hours on whether to elevate the case to the investigation stage. Police also do not rule out naming additional suspects. Earlier, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police had questioned the festival management, organizers, the alcohol brand owner, and attendees. The initial assumption is that the perpetrators were attendees who spontaneously took the microphone and issued the challenge.
