Pelindo Sets Up Aid Post for KM Mutiara Sentosa 2 Victims at Tanjung Perak

PT Pelindo Regional 3 has set up an information and service post for victims of the KM Mutiara Sentosa 2 fire at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya. This post is prepared to support passenger evacuation, health services, assistance, and further facilities for victims arriving in Surabaya. Regional Head of Java for PT Pelindo Regional 3, Purwanto Wahyu Widodo, said they’ve coordinated with KSOP, Basarnas, Jasa Raharja, and PHC Port Hospital. A joint post was established to make identification and services easier, including free health check-ups. The facilities include rest areas, prayer rooms, bathrooms, and onward travel assistance. For victims wanting to continue their journey, Pelindo helps arrange departures with other ships or free land transport to bus terminals and train stations. At least four ships helped with the evacuation in Sumenep waters and were directed to dock at Tanjung Perak. Pelindo prioritizes docking for ships carrying victims for quick handling.
