An elder seeking guidance

Salam. I’m an older guy, not Muslim, but I’ve been drawn to this deen for years. Honestly, books and lectures only take me so far. I was once invited to a Muslim home, and the warmth and brotherhood I felt was overwhelming. But now, with everything going on, I know it’s hard for people to teach outsiders. My worry is, how do I learn correctly without stepping on any toes? JazakAllah khair.
