Islamic New Year Becomes More Meaningful Through 16 Maslahat Peaceful Muharam 1448 H Programs
The Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance (Ditjen Bimas Islam) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs has launched 16 Peaceful Muharam 1448 H programs as a social movement to welcome the Islamic New Year. These programs aim to strengthen social awareness and the well-being of the community in the areas of spirituality, humanity, education, economy, and the environment.
The launch was held during the "Bimas Islam Talks: Peaceful Muharam 1448 H – Public Expose Collaboration of Islamic Philanthropic Institutions" in Jakarta on Thursday (11/6/2026). The Director General of Bimas Islam, Abu Rokhmad, emphasized that this program is not just a commemoration, but a movement to spread goodness and strengthen the community.
The series of programs includes Bimas Islam Talks, 100,000 Khataman Al-Qur'an (completing the recitation of the entire Quran), Orphans and Disabilities Celebration, Nikah Fest, Mosque Clean-Up Movement, and Halal Goes to Campus. All activities are aimed at building a peaceful, caring, and competitive society.
Abu Rokhmad added that religious counselors play an important role in making this program a success by bringing religious values closer to the needs of the community. The collaboration with Islamic philanthropic institutions is expected to expand the reach and create a sustainable impact.
