International Women's Day: Despair in Lebanon
International Women's Day has become a day of despair for many Lebanese mothers displaced by forced evacuation orders and attacks. One mother on the streets of Beirut said, 'All of life is gone,' as they now just fight to keep their children from dying in the cold. Women across the region bear the heaviest weight of conflict, with millions displaced and struggling to survive, often fleeing with almost nothing, not even diapers for newborns. Their children are out of school yet again, adapting to survival mode while families just long to return home.
