In Tatarstan, they set up security signs at two old mosques.
Assalamu alaikum! In our republic, a significant step has been taken to preserve two historic mosques in the Aznakaevsky and Kukmorsky districts - security plaques have been put up on these religious buildings, reports the Spiritual Administration of Muslims.
This event happened over the past weekend. The central mosque in the village of Nizhnyaya Rus' (Kukmorsky district) was built in the early 20th century - it just turned 118 years old this year. Unlike many rural prayer houses, which often used wood, this mosque is made of stone, so its appearance has held up pretty well over the years.
The second mosque is located in the village of Urazaevo (Kukmorsky district) and is even older - it’s 142 years old, making it one of the oldest in the area.
The plaques say that these mosques are cultural heritage sites of regional significance and are under state protection. This is great news for preserving our history and religious memory.
It was also reported earlier about the discovery of ancient copies of the Quran in Yeniseisk, which are planned to be included in a museum exhibition - that’s an important contribution to preserving Islamic spiritual heritage.
May Allah protect our holy sites and give us the strength to take care of them. Peace and blessings to all.
