Gratitude in Prayer: Sajdat al-Shukr or Salatul Shukr?

Alhamdulillah! I just got my first exam grade back, and I passed after making so much dua for success-Allahu Akbar! I was chatting with a friend who said she's trying to be more grateful and turn to Allah when good things happen, like by praying two rakahs as a thank you. I looked into it and learned this is called salatul shukr, but since I follow the Maliki madhab, I also saw that Sajdat al-Shukr is recommended. Anyone else choose between these?
