DMI Jatim Trains 100 Mosque Youth and Disabled Friends to Become Inclusive Young Preachers
The Regional Board of the Indonesian Mosque Council (PW DMI) East Java held a Mosque Youth Da'wah Rhetoric Training at Al-Jihad Mosque Surabaya on July 4, 2026. The training was attended by 100 participants, consisting of male and female mosque youth and representatives of disabled friends, as a manifestation of the commitment to inclusive da'wah.
Head of the Da'wah Department of PW DMI Jatim, Dr. KH A. Syukron Djazilan, said the training aims to guide the younger generation to be able to preach in a friendly and communicative way in the digital era. The organizers also provided sign language interpreters to support accessibility.
Chairman of PW DMI Jatim, Dr. KH Sujak MAg, emphasized that mosques must become centers of community development and spaces for youth to grow. Participants were equipped with rhetoric materials, public communication, and practice lectures which were directly evaluated by the speakers.
DMI Jatim hopes this program will produce young preachers who are not only skilled in speaking, but also become Islamic role models who are friendly, moderate, and full of compassion, and affirm that da'wah is open to all levels of society.
