Need Allah's Guidance Picking a Career, Istikhara or Something Else?

Salaam everyone! I'm really stressed out and need advice. How can I ask Allah to guide me in choosing my career? Do I just make istikhara, or is there more to it? I'm honestly terrified of messing up and wasting years on something that's not right for me, so I really need His help. I'm thinking about medicine, but I'm not set on it. There are so many paths-like IT, engineering, graphic design-and each one has its own issues for me. Tomorrow's the deadline to submit my papers, and I'm completely lost.
