Dayah Babul Huda Lamno Holds Ibda’ Kitab, Kicks Off New Academic Year 1448 H
Dayah Babul Huda in Jambo Masi, Jaya, Aceh Jaya, held the Ibda’ Kitab procession on Wednesday (17/06), marking the start of teaching and learning activities for the 1448 Hijri academic year. Led by Abati Jalaluddin Basyah, accompanied by Abon Amir, and attended by all teachers and students.
This procession is a dayah tradition to kick off the study of the yellow books again, while renewing intentions to seek knowledge for Allah's pleasure. Abati Jalaluddin Basyah stressed that knowledge is light for those who keep sincerity, manners, and seriousness. He advised, “Seeking knowledge isn’t just about chasing information, but also shaping the character and personality of a Muslim. Blessed knowledge is that which is practiced and brings benefit to the community.”
Abon Amir invited the students to make the new academic year a starting point to improve discipline, morals, worship, and earnestness in studying the classical texts. Meanwhile, Tgk. Kaswati Azkia, S.Pd., added that Ibda’ Kitab is a moment to strengthen resolve and gratitude to Allah, so that the knowledge gained is blessed and useful.
This tradition reflects Dayah Babul Huda's commitment to preserving Islamic education based on the yellow books passed down by the scholars.
