Centralizing Services at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Terminal 2F Becomes New Umrah-Hajj Scheme
The government, through the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, has set a policy to centralize services for Umrah and special Hajj pilgrims at Terminal 2F of Soekarno-Hatta Airport starting July 1, 2026. All departure and arrival processes, including direct and transit flights, will be centered at that terminal. This policy aims to strengthen an integrated service system, security, and comfort for pilgrims.
Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organizing, Puji Raharjo, stated that centralization creates an integrated service flow covering Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ), baggage claim, and zamzam water. This model is expected to reduce congestion and speed up airport processes, especially during peak seasons.
Travel organizers are instructed to mobilize pilgrims with discipline. Pilgrims must arrive at Terminal 2F at least 4 hours before departure and wear official attributes like uniforms, identity cards, and travel-labeled luggage tags. This is to support order and identification in mass services.
The government has prepared an emergency mechanism in case of force majeure or technical disruptions, with possible diversion to other terminals according to regulations. This Circular Letter No. SE-153/BN/2026 is expected to improve service quality and the worship experience for Indonesian pilgrims from the home country onward.
