Assalamu Alaikum, fellow believers. I have a question about taking my Shahada.

Assalamu Alaikum, everyone. I don't normally share like this, but I really need some advice from my Muslim family. To keep it brief, I grew up Christian but was never that religious, and for a long time I didn't believe in anything at all. Alhamdulillah, I found the truth in Islam. As someone new to the deen, I'm worried about making mistakes-from learning how to pray and fast properly to reciting the Quran correctly. I know I have so much to learn. I also don't wear the hijab yet, though I do dress modestly, and my family would not accept my decision to embrace Islam. I am doing this for the sake of Allah, not for them. My big question is: how do you know when you're truly ready to take your Shahada?
