As Salaamu Alaikum - A Website to Unite Muslim Skills and Resources

As Salaamu Alaikum. I’ve been thinking about building a website to bring together Muslims’ skills and resources so we can work toward shared goals. Some ideas for the site: 1. Building alternatives to harmful corporations Big companies sometimes support things that harm Muslims or others. Individually we can’t replace them, but if Muslim developers and entrepreneurs collaborate we could create competitive alternatives. It wouldn’t be a search engine only for Muslims, but a service made by Muslims for everyone. We could filter out clearly haraam content like porn and gambling, and use some of the revenue to fund Islamic projects and charities, Insha’Allah. 2. Recording and preserving evidence of injustice There’s injustice around the world - genocides, pollution, corruption. We could keep videos, documents, and testimonies in an organized, searchable archive so evidence isn’t lost and so people can be held accountable one day. Many atrocities against Muslims have gone underreported; documenting them properly is a step toward justice. We could also keep records of those who publicly support such harms. 3. Trade, jobs, and mutual economic support A marketplace and classifieds section for Muslims to buy, sell, and partner could help us trust and support one another. For example, if I have a large supply of macadamia nuts and someone elsewhere needs them, we could arrange trade and profit together. We could also offer job listings, recruitment tools, mentorship, and guidance on career paths that benefit individuals and the Ummah - especially important as AI changes the job market. 4. Political engagement and civic participation Help Muslims run for local and national office, mobilize voters, and promote policies that protect our communities. For example, pushing for sound monetary reforms or asset-backed currency ideas could reduce harmful debt dependence in society. Encouraging political participation can shape laws and systems for the better. We have many skilled engineers, doctors, lawyers, accountants, and businesspeople among us. If we pool our talents and resources, we can make a real difference.
