A delayed sign after my dua-should I take it as acceptance?

Assalamu alaikum everyone, Lately, I’ve been making dua about something I really want to pursue, but it felt stuck, like no progress. Yesterday, I asked Allah for a specific sign within a certain time to know if it’s worth continuing-I didn’t want to keep asking for something that might not be good for me. The sign didn’t come during that time, but almost 10 hours later, the exact sign I asked for showed up. This is about a man I’ve been interested in, and I’ve been praying to see if I should try to understand if he could be my naseeb. Now I’m confused: does this delay mean my dua was answered? Should I keep him in my life? I’d appreciate your thoughts, jazakum Allahu khairan.
