You’re being tested and trained - a reminder about relying on others and tech
Assalamualaikum, Have you ever faced something difficult and immediately gone to an AI or friends to ask why it happened or what will happen next? It’s natural to look for outside advice, but never forget that Allah SWT is the One who ordains every hardship, every loss, every test. You might ask a chatbot whether someone will return to your life and get lots of guesses, but the final outcome has always been in Allah’s Hands, so ultimately we must turn to Him. Think about the story of Yusuf (PBUH): Allah kept him in prison for years even though he’d done nothing wrong. Maybe the delay wasn’t punishment but a way to refine his heart, strengthen his reliance on Allah, and redirect his hopes to the One who truly controls affairs. Seeking counsel from people or tools can be helpful at times, but check your niyyah and make sure your trust is in Allah first. There’s little point in treating a glorified calculator as the final authority on your life. Overreliance on such things can be harmful, and if it replaces tawakkul, it becomes spiritually dangerous. You can research and ask, but remember you don’t control the outcome - leave it to Allah. Often delays and trials come to those whom Allah intends to raise. Tests can be a way of polishing someone’s iman so they’re ready for a higher station. That’s why a believer may face hardship even without sin - it draws the heart nearer to Allah. So don’t lose hope in Allah’s mercy. Your trials might be precisely what’s needed to refine you for the best in the akhirah. Alhamdulillah. May Allah increase our knowledge and ease the difficulties of every Muslim. Ameen. (Posted after hearing a lecture that inspired me on this topic.)
