Wife of Late Arist Merdeka Sirait Chosen for Free Holy Land Pilgrimage from National Police Chief for 2026 National Children's Day
Jakarta – Coinciding with National Children's Day 2026 on July 23, Rostimaline Munthe (64), wife of the late children's rights activist Arist Merdeka Sirait, received a free Holy Land pilgrimage to Jerusalem. This religious tourism program was initiated by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo together with the Indonesian Police Lovers Society (MPPI) as part of the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration.
Besides Rostimaline, church servant Elpi Tiopan Gultom (65) was also selected based on her track record of social service and community work. Both are scheduled to depart from August 28 to September 9, 2026, visiting Israel, Egypt, and Jordan.
Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection Agustinus Sirait called this award a token of appreciation for the late Arist Merdeka Sirait’s dedication, who devoted his life to the protection of Indonesian children. "This is no coincidence, it's God's destiny. My brother fought for Indonesian children, and now my sister-in-law gets the chance to go on a pilgrimage, a dream of Christians," he said.
Rostimaline and Elpi are both active as elders at the HKBP Pasar Rebo Church in East Jakarta. This program is part of the National Police's care for figures who have dedicated their lives to the public interest.
