Why Aren’t We Speaking Up for Our Uyghur Brothers and Sisters?

Assalamualaikum, dear brothers and sisters. I’ve been thinking a lot lately and my heart feels heavy. Why is our community so quiet about the suffering of our Uyghur family? We know they are facing unimaginable hardships-oppression, violence, and pain behind closed doors-yet we hardly hear any discussions in our gatherings or online spaces. It’s like we’ve forgotten them, and I can’t understand how we let this happen. As Muslims, we are one ummah, and their pain is our pain. Let’s break this silence and remember them in our duas.
