Send 1000 Salawat Today: Get 10,000 Blessings and Rise 10,000 Ranks
Assalamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters. Alhamdulillah, it’s Friday again, the best day of the week. A perfect time to take a few minutes and send salawat (durood) upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We all know we should do it. But many of us don’t realize just how amazing the reward is. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times.” (Sahih Muslim, hadith 408, from Abu Huraira). In another authentic narration, he said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold, erase ten of his sins, and raise him ten degrees in status.” (Sunan an-Nasai, hadith 1297, from Anas ibn Malik, sahih). Just think about that. One salawat brings ten blessings from Allah, wipes away ten sins, and raises your rank ten levels-all for a few seconds of moving your lips. There’s also a narration saying that whoever recites a thousand salawat on Friday will see his place in Paradise before death. Some scholars say the chain is weak, but it’s well known that sending lots of salawat on Friday is highly recommended, since the Prophet ﷺ told us our salawat are shown to him on this day. So even if we set that weak hadith aside, Friday is still the day to increase our salawat. **A simple plan for today** You don’t need to sit for an hour. Here’s an easy idea. Pick a target: maybe 100, 500, or even 1000 if you can. Choose a number that’s a bit challenging but doable. Use a short salawat so you can repeat it easily. For example, you could say: Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَلْفَ أَلْفَ مَرَّةٍ Transliteration: Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa alihi alfa alfa marrah Meaning: “O Allah, send Your blessings upon Prophet Muhammad and his family a million times.” Fit it into your free moments: while driving or commuting, walking, waiting in a queue, or those few minutes before you sleep. You’ll be amazed how quickly the count adds up. The math is incredible, but the real point is the love behind it. Sending salawat is one of those acts where you’re not asking for anything for yourself, yet Allah returns to you far more than you gave. Make it a habit beyond just Fridays, but today, try to push your count higher. Jumu'ah Mubarak to you all.
