Alleged Sexual Abuse Case at Pati Islamic Boarding School Under Investigation, Suspect Allegedly Uses Claim of 'Sainthood' as Modus Operandi
The alleged sexual violence case at the Ndholo Kusumo Islamic Boarding School in Pati has captured public attention. The victims' lawyer, Ali Yusron, stated that the perpetrator, with the initials Ashari (58), is suspected of committing acts against dozens of female students. Based on the statements of the accompanied victims, the number of victims is estimated to be between 30 and 50.
Ali Yusron explained that the perpetrator allegedly deceived the victims using a spiritual ruse, including claiming to be a 'wali' or holy person with special abilities. The doctrine given to the victims stated that they must obey in order to enter heaven. The perpetrator is also said to have claimed to be a descendant of the Prophet.
This case was previously reported to the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Pati Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit in 2024 by 4 to 8 victims. However, that report is said to have not been followed through to completion. As of now, this case is still under legal process and is under public scrutiny.
