UIN Datokarama Palu Offers Free Scholarships for Palestinian Youth
State Islamic University (UIN) Datokarama Palu, Central Sulawesi, is providing free undergraduate education for Palestinian youth. This program is part of the campus's commitment to strengthening humanitarian solidarity and academic cooperation between Indonesia and Palestine.
Rector of UIN Datokarama Palu, Prof. Lukman Thahir, said this policy is a real show of support for the Palestinian people's struggle through education. He reckons the presence of Palestinian students can tighten cross-country brotherhood and build sustainable academic cooperation on a global scale.
The program was discussed during the Rector’s visit to the Embassy of Palestine in Jakarta on June 25, 2026. UIN Datokarama Palu has set up scholarships through the Datokarama International Scholarship (DIS), in line with the campus’s vision of being internationally standard under the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
As an initial phase, the scholarships are given to five Palestinian youths. Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulfattah A K Al-Sattari, welcomed the program and expressed appreciation for Indonesia's support, which shows educational diplomacy as a bridge between nations.
