To Those Who Raised Their Voices for Palestine: Why Silence Isn't an Option
As-salamu alaykum, friends. I've been reflecting on how we show support for causes, especially one as important to us as Palestine. Standing with Palestine was never supposed to be just a trend. Justice isn't a topic that comes and goes with the seasons. A ceasefire doesn't mean healing is done. Silence doesn't mean safety, and paused destruction definitely doesn't mean everything is 'fine.' Think about it: if your home was destroyed again and again, and one day the bombing stopped, would everything suddenly be okay? Would the loss just disappear? Would the trauma fix itself overnight? Of course not. It would take years-maybe generations-to rebuild what was lost. And Palestine is no different. People there are still grieving, still displaced, still rebuilding their lives from rubble, still carrying wounds that no camera can capture. The world moving on doesn't mean their suffering has ended. It only means attention has shifted elsewhere. Influence is a trust from Allah. A platform is a responsibility. When you have followers who listen, who donate, who act because you spoke up-your voice matters even more after the headlines fade away. This isn't about following trends. It's about humanity and our Islamic duty to seek justice. Don't speak only when it's loud. Speak when it's quiet too, because justice doesn't expire when the news cycle changes. Palestine still needs voices. Palestine still needs support. Palestine still needs people who refuse to forget. Let's keep our brothers and sisters in our prayers and actions, in sha Allah.
