Tears of Gratitude from a Preschool Teacher in the Holy Land, 17 Years of Service Rewarded with Umrah Gift from the National Police Chief
Mecca – Dewi Mentari (37), a preschool teacher who has dedicated 17 years of her life, finally got to realize her dream of performing umrah in the Holy Land in June 2026. This trip is part of the free umrah program for the 80th Bhayangkara Day, given by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo through the Indonesian Police Lovers Society (MPPI).
Dewi admitted she was really moved when she first saw the Kaaba. “Alhamdulillah, ya Allah. May it be a blessing in this world and the hereafter for Mr. Listyo Sigit,” she said. The pilgrimage from June 21 to 30, 2026, became an unforgettable spiritual experience for her.
MPPI Chairman Zandre Badak said the free umrah program will continue, with plans to send Quran teachers from TKA-TPA on August 21, 2026. In addition, there are other social programs like renovation aid for Quran teachers' houses and the construction of a Musala Presisi.
For Dewi, the most memorable moment was standing before the Kaaba, crying in gratitude because prayers that had long felt out of reach finally came true, thanks to her dedication to educating children since 2009.
