Study finds severe intellectual disabilities linked to 24-year life gap, ethnic disparities

A study reveals people with severe intellectual disabilities die 24 years younger on average than the general population. It also found 40% of deaths in this group are avoidable. Within the group, people from minority ethnic backgrounds die 14 years younger than white counterparts.
