Starting June 1, PPIH Saudi Arabia Finalizes Return Plan for Hajj Pilgrims to Homeland
The Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia is finalizing the return plan for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, set to begin on June 1, 2026, after the peak rituals in Armuzna went smoothly. Inspector General of the Hajj Ministry, Dendi Suryadi, said the repatriation process will be orderly, following the flight group schedule from Indonesia.
The first group that departed on April 22, 2026, is scheduled to return on June 1. This schedule forms the basis for arranging operational schemes, including flights, buses, and hotels. On-the-ground adjustments are possible, but they're expected to be no more than 20 percent off the initial schedule.
PPIH has prepared mitigation for sick pilgrims or those who haven't performed the farewell tawaf. Dendi considers this year's Hajj services a success and a point for evaluation. He urges pilgrims to tidy up their belongings, comply with suitcase weight limits, and follow the rules for zamzam water.
The first wave of returns runs from June 1–15 via King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah; the second wave from June 7–30 via AMAA Airport in Medina. Officers are also wrapping up services for nafar tsani pilgrims in Mecca.
