Senator Ning Lia's Working Visit to the East Java Information Commission Coincides with HAKIN 2026
Coinciding with the commemoration of National Information Disclosure Day (HAKIN) on April 30, DPD/MPR RI member Dr. Lia Istifhama (Ning Lia) conducted a working visit to the East Java Provincial Information Commission (KI) office in Sidoarjo. This visit served as a reflective dialogue and a gathering to encourage the strengthening of transparency, accountability, and public participation values.
In the meeting with the leadership of the East Java KI, led by Chairman A. Nur Aminuddin, the institution's achievements and challenges were discussed. In 2025, the East Java KI managed to resolve around 165 information dispute cases, up from 135 cases in 2024. The number of public bodies categorized as 'informative' also increased from 26 (2024) to 47 (2025) out of a total of more than 250 monitored public bodies.
The East Java KI remains committed to grounding information openness despite budget limitations and is currently proposing a Public Information Disclosure Regional Regulation to the East Java DPRD. Senator Ning Lia expressed her appreciation and support, while also extending congratulations for HAKIN 2026 and backing transparency efforts for accountable and participatory public body governance.
