Question about permissibility - chickens and other meats
Assalamu alaikum, I have a question about what counts as halal when it comes to chickens and, by extension, other permissible meats. My understanding is that the slaughter rules for chickens and other herbivorous animals are pretty similar. But I’m wondering: if a chicken that’s being slaughtered in the proper Islamic way had been free-range and occasionally ate small animals like mice, would that affect whether the chicken is still considered halal? Likewise, some cattle are sometimes fed feed that contains animal-derived components. If those animals are then slaughtered according to the Islamic method, are they still permissible to eat? Jazakum Allahu khairan.
