President Prabowo Says Social Assistance Digitalization Has Reached 153 Regencies/Cities
Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that social protection must be more targeted, accessible, and dignified. Digitalization of registration for the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Sembako social assistance has been implemented in 153 regencies/cities across 38 provinces, with over 3 million families registered toward a target of 49 million registered families.
Digitalization cuts costs and time. Previously, underprivileged families were estimated to spend around Rp 150,000 on transportation, documents, and photocopying. Eligibility checks that used to take 75–200 days are now completed in minutes or hours. Registration is now free and more transparent.
The President stressed, 'Poor people must not pay to prove they are poor. People also should not have to repeatedly submit data the state already has.' Digitalization will continue to be expanded for government assistance and subsidies.
In his speech, the President introduced two beneficiaries: Susana from Bogor Regency and Margarelitha Rohi from Kupang. He emphasized the state's presence to ensure support, not to replace people's hard work.
