Prabowo Calls Out Under Invoicing, Finance Ministry Special Team Probes Alleged Palm Oil Export Manipulation
President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the practices of under invoicing and transfer pricing in Indonesia's natural resource exports, which he said hurt state revenues. "What businesses sell isn't reported truthfully," Prabowo stressed during the DPR RI Plenary Session, May 20, 2026.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa revealed suspected practices in CPO and coal exports. An internal team used AI to sift through National Single Window (NSW) data and formed a "team of 10" to randomly investigate 10 CPO export firms.
"They're using AI to check whether under-invoicing really happens in the palm oil industry," Purbaya explained on Saturday, May 23, 2026. The probe aims to maximize state revenue from the export sector.
