1000 Salawat Today = 10,000 Blessings, 10,000 Ranks Higher...

Assalamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters. It’s Jumu’ah again, the most blessed day of the week. A perfect moment to pause for a few minutes and send salawat upon our beloved Prophet ﷺ. We all know we should do it. But many of us don’t realize just how generous the reward is. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times.” This is in Sahih Muslim, hadith 408, from Abu Huraira. In another narration, he ﷺ said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold, erase ten of his sins, and raise him ten degrees in status.” This is from Sunan an-Nasai, hadith 1297, narrated by Anas ibn Malik, and it’s sahih. Just think about that. One salawat. Ten blessings from Allah. Ten sins wiped away. Ten ranks raised. All from a few seconds of moving your tongue. There’s also a narration from Anas ibn Malik that whoever recites a thousand salawat on Friday won’t die until he sees his place in Paradise. The scholars say this narration is weak in its chain. But the general idea of sending lots of salawat on Friday is solid, because the Prophet ﷺ told us our salawat are presented to him on this day. So even if we set the weaker hadith aside, Friday is still the day to really increase it. **A simple plan for today** You don’t need to sit for an hour. Just try this. Pick a target. A hundred. Five hundred. A thousand if you can. Choose a number that’s a bit challenging but doable. Use a short durood so it’s easy to repeat. Here’s one I personally say: Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ أَلْفَ أَلْفَ مَرَّةٍ Transliteration: Allahumma salli ala Muhammadin wa alihi alfa alfa marrah Meaning: “O Allah, send Your blessings upon Prophet Muhammad and his family a thousand thousand (a million) times.” Fit it into your spare moments. While driving to work. Walking. Waiting in line. The few minutes before you sleep. You’ll be amazed how fast the count adds up. The numbers are mind-blowing, but the real point isn’t the math. It’s the love. Sending salawat is one of the few acts where you’re not asking for anything for yourself, and yet Allah gives you back so much more. Try to make it a habit, not just on Fridays. But today, make a special effort to push your count. Jumu’ah Mubarak to you all.
