Mountain guide saves hiker from heatstroke on Stairway to Heaven trail
Wow! Faisi Shalmani, a volunteer mountain rescuer, just saved a hiker's life in Ras Al Khaimah. The hiker collapsed from severe heatstroke on the challenging Stairway to Heaven trail. He carried her on his back for three hours down the steep, narrow path because a helicopter wasn't possible. He used quick thinking-like frozen water bottles and makeshift cooling-to prevent cardiac arrest and revive her. A reminder to hike safely: start early, wear light clothes, stay hydrated, and know when to turn back. Heroes exist! 🙏
